This Thursday I'm back in my favourite city of Marseille to enjoy some French culture, play and listen to some cool music and see good friends that I've met over the last few years. As always the evening starts at La Dame Noir bar with Japanese cuisine, cocktails and dark disco sound track until the early hours, then we continue into the early hours at La Dame Noir Dancing which is located at the Trolleybus, one of the oldest and coolest clubs in town located in a dark 17th century tunnel like gallery next to the harbour in Vieux Port. Marseille is steeped in culture and next year it has rightly been named the capital of culture so make sure you book your visit.
This time I'm visiting with my fiancée and one of me best mate's Lionel who also has built many friendships in the city. However 3 days as always seems not enough with obligatory visits to La Dame Noir every other night to see Kompakt's Kolombo, Gomma Records boss Munk and Marseille's very own Copyshop playing at the party until the early hours of Saturday and Sunday morning, but the music doesn't stop there as friend Matthieu Viktor from Soirées Loisirs is playing down at Oogie on Thursday and also DJ Oil over in Aix en Provence on Friday which will result in a cheeky train journey, plus the obligatory trip to Le Passe Temps to see Brice and the crew. Then there is yet another statutory visit to Kulte clothing to stock up on our wardrobe, on for some food at Spok and this wicked little Falafel joint next door called Au Falafel will have to be visited too, plus my favourite restaurants La Cantinetta, Le Yen and Chez Vincent, pints in Polikarpov, the list goes on of the places we need to see....
